Drawing is an integral part of the VCAA and VCE Visual Communication Design curricula. Students must be provided with appropriate scaffolding towards the key skills and key knowledges appropriate to their level of learning.
Selecting and sequencing drawing interventions is a task that should be approached with careful consideration of the contexts surrounding the learning. The current learning level, design discipline (communication, environmental or industrial), unit focus and point within the Design Process each need to be taken into account when introducing and developing drawing skills.
Schema Introduction Video
The provided Drawing Schema has been modelled to mirror the cyclical nature of the VCAA VCD Design Process. It is intended to provide an overview of drawing processes and skills at any point of the process and provides teachers with a way of viewing the drawing skills and techniques required throughout the design cycle.
